If you have lost your electricity bill’s reference number, first recover an identifier for your own connection. BijliBills does not search customer records by name, address, phone number or CNIC. We link to official electricity-company services and explain how to find the details those services request.
Check which identifier your company accepts
The official LESCO bill form and official MEPCO bill form provide reference-number and customer-ID options. Select the matching option and follow the instructions shown on the official form. A meter serial number is a different identifier and is not automatically a substitute.
K-Electric uses its own service rather than the PITC bill forms. Start from K-Electric’s official bills and payments page and use the account details requested there.
If your supplier’s form offers an alternative to a reference number, you still need that alternative identifier for the correct connection. A separate CNIC-registration service, where offered, is not evidence that the public duplicate-bill form can find any account from a CNIC.
Four places to recover your own account details
- An earlier bill or saved copy. Check paper files, downloads, your own email and photographs. An older bill can help identify the account even though its amount and due date are no longer current. Use the newest identifier available and confirm it against the current property.
- Your payment history. Open a payment you made in your banking or wallet app. Its receipt or saved biller may display the consumer or reference details. A transaction number identifies the payment; do not assume it is the electricity account number.
- The authorised account holder or landlord. For a rented property, request a bill for the exact unit and meter you use. Buildings can have several connections, so a bill for the building next door or another flat is not a valid substitute.
- Your electricity company’s customer service office. If you cannot recover the details, ask the supplier how to identify your connection and what proof it requires. Have the property address and safely visible meter serial number ready. Supply identity or occupancy documents only when requested through an official channel.
Moving house: a common mix-up
A saved biller in your phone may still belong to your previous home. Before paying, compare the new bill’s company, address and meter number with the connection you are responsible for. If the account holder’s name differs because you are a tenant, confirm the connection with the landlord; a familiar name alone is not enough.
If the official result belongs to someone else, stop. Recheck your own records or contact the supplier. Do not modify a neighbour’s reference number or try nearby account numbers: that can reveal another household’s bill without helping establish that an account belongs to you.
When the recovered number still gives no result
- Choose the electricity company printed on your bill.
- Check that you selected reference number, customer ID or account number as appropriate.
- Copy the identifier carefully, preserving leading zeroes where present.
- Check whether the supplier has issued the new bill yet, or whether its service is temporarily unavailable.
- Ask official support to confirm account changes or a replacement identifier.
A blank result or error is not proof that nothing is payable. Check the issued bill or contact the supplier if a due date is approaching.
Keep the recovered details private
Save the verified identifier securely with the company name and property label so you can recognise it next month. Avoid publicly sharing your bill, CNIC, phone number, barcode or account identifiers. BijliBills cannot retrieve or correct a private electricity account.
Choose your company and open its official portal in one click. Account recovery and corrections must be handled by that company.
